The Photos are No Longer Black and White
The photos are no longer black and white
In violent color
Buildings are destroyed
Join up, speak out, and stand for what’s right
When I was in middle school
I learned about Civil Rights
How riots, fires, tear gas were deployed
The photos are no longer black and white
For years have raged a silent, unfair fight
But one we can no longer avoid
Join up, speak out, stand for what’s right
Too many have fallen to this spite
Breonna Taylor, Emmet Till, George Floyd
The photos are no longer black and white
His death has brought awful crimes to the light
And throughout protest a revolution buoyed
Join up, speak out, stand for what’s right
So now we call on you dear friend, unite
Equality should be enjoyed by all
The photos are no longer black and white
